Hey sis,
It's Stephanie Rodnez here, founder and CEO of Godlywood Girl and creator of the Godlywood Girl School Of Business, and if you want to learn powerful t-shirt marketing strategies then stay tuned to til the end of this article because I'm going to show you four powerful Instagram marketing strategies to take your t-shirt business marketing to the very next level.
I'm super excited to bring you part four of my 4-Part "Launch Your T-Shirt Business Series." If you missed blog post number #1 about the launch your t-shirt business plan PDF, you can read that article here.
Marketing strategy number one is to wear your t-shirt on an Instagram live stream. Now, this is going to sound so crazy, but I had no idea how effective it is to wear your shirt while you're teaching content about something else. People will DM you and be like, "Yo, that shirt was hot. Where can I get it?" That's exactly what happened with my James 1:25 "Blessed" T-Shirt (click here to grab yours).
The James 1:25 "Blessed" T-Shirt is one of the very brand-new shirts that I released here at Godlywood Girl, and all I did was I got on livestream to read the Bible, and all of a sudden, all these comments started to come in, "Hey, where can I get that shirt?
And I didn't even mention the shirt during the livestream!
So get on livestream and teach a valuable topic that has something to do with the purpose of your shirt collection.
Powerful marketing strategy number two is to give yourself a little photo shoot and post motivational quotes wearing your shirt. You know how on Instagram sometimes you'll see somebody inside of an image with a quote next to them?Wear your t-shirt in "Quotable" images and let those quotes impact people as they become aware of your shirt.
You can even post inside of your description of the post and say, "Hey, brand-new t-shirt collection! Use discount code ABC by going to my website at this link." It's a great way to organically market your shirt, show how fabulous it looks and still be adding value to your consumer's life.
Instagram marketing strategy number three is one of my favorites, and it's to have influencers promote your shirt. Influencer marketing is one of the best-kept secrets for smaller entrepreneurs.
Big brands know all about influencer marketing and have been deploying this strategy for years. But for some reason, solo-preneurs like us kind of forget that influencer marketing is a really effective thing and it doesn't have to be costly.
I know one brand that has over a million followers and all they charge is $125 for a post (which is a steal). So for me, I just take a photo of my shirt, send it to the influencer and pay them to post it.
If you don't want to pay anything, something else you can do is send a sample of your shirt to influencers inside of your industry. The only thing is that if you're sending PR, there's no guarantee the influencer will post about your shirt or when they'll post. That's why I prefer to pay an influencer rather than send PR.
But either way, influencer marketing is a great way to promote your t-shirt collection because the influencer has already built a following of people who they love and who love them back. And if you've done a good job designing your t-shirt to fit your audience, then it'll be a great way to see how the audience responds to your design. Comment below and let me know, have you ever tried influencer marketing, and if no, tell me why not?
And finally, powerful Instagram marketing tip number four is to do a fashion haul. We've all seen fashion hauls on YouTube, right? It's when somebody goes in and they buy a bunch of stuff and come on screen to explain to you what the shirt is and how it looks on and what they can pair with and how they can style it.
Do the same exact thing on Instagram. Instagram live is a real thing, sis. You can do your own haul right here on Instagram live. Show off your shirt, show off how you pair it together with earrings, with necklaces, with bracelets, how you accessorize it, what kind of shirts you can go in, with the fabric, the material, the fit - all that good stuff.
Give all those delicious, beautiful details to your audience, and when you're done, save the livestream to your phone and upload it to YouTube as its own fashion haul video. So you get two for the price of one.
Fashion hauls are such a great way to market your t-shirt collection. Don't be afraid to be your own model. I know one young lady who's like, "Oh, I need the money to pay all these models," and I was like, "No, you don't. Be your own model."
You are the best salesperson for your t-shirt collection because you know the purpose behind it, the meaning behind it, the heart and the soul and the research that went behind it. You are your best spokesperson, so make sure you take on those shirts, you put them on, you do a fashion haul and you show off the beauty of your shirt.
Now I hope you enjoyed the four steps on using Instagram to market your t-shirt collection. But let me ask you, do you dream of launching your own t-shirt business the way that God purposed you to do it, but you're not sure where to start?
Sis, I completely understand. When I first wanted to launch my own t-shirt business, I actually went to local printers in my area that was so expensive, it almost made me quit on my dream of having a t-shirt line.
I decided maybe I'll try printing my own shirts, but let me tell you, having all of that equipment piled up in your house is awful.
So I did research online and I found out about Print on Demand services, and I realized there's literally a way to be able to print shirts only when someone buys a shirt from you. There's no inventory, there's no shipping, there's no printing on my part. All I need to do was design, set up and market my shirts, and the print on demand service took care of the rest.
If you want to do the same thing, I have a brand-new masterclass called the Launch Your T-Shirt Business Masterclass where I walk you step-by-step through launching your very own t-shirt business the way that God purposed you to do it. You can learn more about the masterclass by clicking here.

Want to learn about tshirt business profit? You’ll know how to start a tshirt business online, and all the best tips for launching a Christian tshirts business so you can start selling shirts online.

Hey sis,
It's Stephanie Rodnez here, founder and CEO of Godlywood Girl and creator of the Godlywood Girl School Of Business, and if you want a t-shirt business profit formula that shows you how to price your own t-shirts for your own t-shirt business just like Godlywood Girls, then watch this video, stay to the end, because by the end of it you are going to have my t-shirt business profit formulas to know exactly how to price your shirts.
I'm super excited to bring you part three of my 4-Part "Launch Your T-Shirt Business Series." If you missed blog post number #1 about the launch your t-shirt business plan PDF, you can read that article here.
This article is all about my "tshirt business profit" formula and I'm really excited to share this formula with you because it's going to show you step-by-step how to price your very own Christian t-shirt business online.
To learn about the t-shirt business profit formula, first we have to start off by understanding what profit actually is. When I got my MBA, the first thing they teach you is that profit is income minus expenses. But here's the thing, most of us when we're thinking about income and expenses, we only think about inventory. "This t-shirt cost me $19 to print and I sell it for $29 so my profit is 10 bucks."
But that's actually not accurate. Profit has to include the cost of everything that goes into you maintaining your t-shirt business including the cost of your website, marketing, promotion fees, the cost of labor, the cost of printing and shipping, the cost you pay yourself, and on and on and on. We have to make sure we understand that profit is not just income minus expenses, profit is in step number two.
The second thing we need to understand about t-shirt business profit is that we are looking for gross profit. We need to understand everything that goes into the cost of our shirt.
Sit down and ask yourself:
You have to figure out all those different costs, which make up something called cost of goods sold (you'll see this on a financial statement written as COGS). Your gross margin is your income minus your entire cost of goods sold. For example, if I go through all my expenses and I realize that my cost of goods sold for selling one Godlywood Girl t-shirt is $19 per shirt, and I sell the shirt for $29 online, then my profit is $10.
After we know these numbers, now we can figure out what we're going to price our shirt at.
To figure out the price of our shirt, we start out by understanding what we want our gross profit margin to be. Gross profit margin refers to the percentage of the money you keep after your shirt is sold. If my gross profit margin is 10%, then that means I keep 10% of the $29 that I sold my shirt at.
And if you're doing the math in your head, yup, 10% GPM for a $29 shirt means you're only making $2.19 profit, which is terrible lol. It's very hard to run a business with such low margins, and that's why you've got to know what margin you want to have in your business before you price your shirts.
The amount of profit margin your company should have varies in the industry so I'm not going to sit here and pretend to tell you I know what your profit margin in your business should be. Do your research, find out what the standard GPM is for your industry and go from there.
At Godlywood Girl, I like to have a 50% profit margin, which means I keep 50% of the revenue I make from each item I sell. The formula for Gross Profit Margin is (Revenue - COGS) / Revenue.
So let's take the numbers I used in step two. Gross profit margin equals revenue, ($29_ minus cost of goods sold ($19) divided by revenue ($29), so $10 divided by 29 equals a gross profit margin of 34%.
Since my goal is 50%, I either need to reduce my COGS or increase my Revenue in order to reach my desired gross profit margin. The easy way to reach my number is just to divide my COGS by my desired profit margin, and list my t-shirts at that price.
So if my COGS is $19 per shirt, and I want a 50% margin, then I caculate 19 / 50% (.5) in order to get a retail price of $38.
See how that works?
If your COGS is $49 per bag, and you want a 70% profit margin, then you caculate your retail price by diving $49/.7 = $70. So you should sell your bag for $70.
Now go ahead and try this formula out on your own product.
Now I hope you enjoyed that step-by-step demonstration of my t-shirt business profit formula.

Hey sis,
It's Stephanie Rodnez here, founder and CEO of Godlywood Girl and creator of the Godlywood Girl School Of Business, and if you want a t-shirt business starter kit that shows you step-by-step how to launch your own Christian t-shirt business online just like Godlywood Girl's t-shirt line, read to the end of this article because you're going to have my exact t-shirt business starter kit that one of my students took and launched her very own t-shirt business with within one month of learning this formula.
I'm super excited to bring you part two of my 4-Part "Launch Your T-Shirt Business Series." If you missed blog post number #1 about the launch your t-shirt business plan PDF, you can read that article here.
This article is all about my "Launch Your T-Shirt business Starter kit" and I'm really excited to share this formula with you because it's going to show you step-by-step how to launch your very own Christian t-shirt business online.
The first thing in your t-shirt business starter kit has got to be the purpose of your t-shirt business. There are so many t-shirt businesses online right now and the competition is fierce, so you have to stand out from among everybody else.
The only way you can do that is through the purpose of your t-shirts. At Godlywood Girl, the purpose of my t-shirts is to empower women of faith to remember they can live God's greatest purpose for their lives. Every time a woman of faith is having a bad day or somebody her calls out her name, she can look at her t-shirt and remind herself of who God made her to be. That's the purpose of my t-shirts and that's what makes me stand out from the thousands of other Christian t-shirt businesses out there. You've got to know exactly what the purpose of your t-shirt business is.
Step number two in your kit is your product research. You don't want to go out and duplicate what's already on the market. You want to find a hole in the market, a niche that you can fill, a little spot that's going to be kind of your flavor, yours to be able to run in.
One of the niches that I found that hadn't really been filled yet were Christian t-shirts for Christian entrepreneurs and I was like, "Oh snap! That would be a good one." As a result, my Purpose-Preneur sweatshirt is actually one of the best-selling t-shirts that I have here at Godlywood Girl, so do your product research and find out what already exists and what hole you can fill in your market.
To search for other t-shirt businesses, type in "Christian t-shirts" on Google and search through what's already being sold. You can also go to Pinterest and type in "Christian t-shirts" to see what other products are out there.
The third part of the launch your t-shirt business starter kit is Market Research. Now that you know the purpose of your t-shirt business, now that you know what product research is already out there, the third step is to find out what your audience wants from your t-shirts.
It's important to know what your tribe wants because your tribe is going to be the one buying these shirts. For example, at Godlywood Girl, my tribe loves pink, black, white and grey. Now if I went and I was like, "Okay, there are no blue shirts" and I just started producing blue shirts, my tribe is going to be like, "What is going on? You are not fitting what we like about your products."
You need to ask your market what they want. Ask what they are looking for in t-shirts, whether they want sweatshirts, do they want sweaters, do they want regular scoop necks, do they want V-necks, do they want long sleeves, do they want short sleeve, do they want no sleeves? Ask your audience what kind of shirts that they want so you design a t-shirt line your tribe responds to.
Item number four in your t-shirt business starter kit is your brand board. A brand board is basically like a vision board. It's just a bunch of images and styles and font types and things like that and colors that reflect what you want your t-shirt line to look like.
You want to make sure you put this together based off of the market research your audience gave you, so you're creating a product line that has a real identity and serves the market you want to serve.
At Godlywood Girl, my brand board is very pink, it's very girly, and it's very "pretty" because that's the brand that I created and that's the brand my tribe has gotten used to. Create your brand board based off of market research so you know the essence of what your t-shirt business is going to look like.
Item number five in your t-shirt business starter kit is your Product design. This is where you design your first t-shirt line. When you do this, I don't recommend designing too many shirts because your audience will get overwhelmed with too many options. I actually recommend starting out with four staple shirts and then adding a shirt every couple of months so it's kind of like a new release in your collection.
If you don't want to design the shirts yourself, you can hire a designer on Fiverr.com, Upwork.com, 99designs.com or you can just put up an ad for a graphic designer and have them design it for you.
If you do this, make sure you give the designer your brand board, the purpose of your business, market research and product research so they have a great visual representation of what you envision for your t-shirt line.
If you want to design your own t-shirt line, you can use amazing resources like canva.com or Photoshop to design your own t-shirts.
Item number six in your t-shirt business starter kit is your Printer Research. Who's going to print your shirts? Who's going to manufacture them? Who's going to ship them? Who's going to take care of customer support if somebody wants to return them?
Do your research and send your print to all four or five or six printers that you research so you can evaluate their turnaround time, shipping rates, pricing, quality, etc.
And finally, step number 7 in your t-shirt business starter kit is your Launch Plan. As entrepreneurs, one of the biggest mistakes we make is we release new products to the world and we don't tell anybody that we did it.
Make sure you have your launch plan ready before you complete your t-shirt line. You want to have people waiting to get your shirts, you want to have buzz surrounding your shirt. You want to have people being like, "Oh my gosh where's that shirt? When can I get it? I can't wait to wear it!"
You can do things like promos on Instagram wearing your shirt, teasing your shirt, doing giveaways of your shirt, things like that, so people know your shirt is coming. Create your launch plan so you create buzz around your shirts.
Now I hope you enjoyed that step-by-step demonstration of my t-shirt business starter kit.

Hey sis,
It's Stephanie Rodnez here, founder and CEO of Godlywood Girl and creator of the Godlywood Girl Launch Your T-Shirt Business Masterclass, and if you want a T-Shirt Business Plan PDF that will walk you step-by-step through launching your own t-shirt business the way that God purposed you to do it, read this article to the end because you're going to have my exact step-by-step PDF guide that one of my students used to launch her very own t-shirt business just one month after learning it.
The first thing you want to start with is the Name of your T-Shirt Business, and the reason why I want to start with the name is that a lot of people launch t-shirt lines with no name. And if you have a t-shirt collection but you have no way to name it, then you have no way to brand it. You know and I know that everybody and their Mama got a t-shirt business nowadays, so you need to know what the name is of your t-shirt business so that you can brand it when you are doing marketing and promotions.
The second thing that's very important is Understanding the Purpose of your T-Shirt Business. This is what's going to make you stand out from the crowd, this is what's called product differentiation in business. This is what makes you unique from all the other t-shirt businesses out there.
For example, for Godlywood Girl I create t-shirts that remind women of Christ of their power as the chosen daughter of a risen King. I remind women that they have purpose, that they are blessed, that they are purposeperneurs, that they can soar, they're courageous, that they will fight for their purpose. Those are the reasons that I create t-shirts, it's so that you can look down and remember, God has purposed me to do something really big with my life and I can keep fighting to do this. So, you need to know what the purpose is of your t-shirt business, because that marketing message is going to be what you use to communicate to your audience why they should actually purchase your t-shirts.
The next step is Product Research. One of the biggest things that you can do as an entrepreneur is finding a really hot market, yes, but also find a hole in the hot market that you can fill. For me, one the biggest holes that I found in my market of Christian t-shirts - because there are like 40,000 people who search for Christian t-shirts online every single month, but the biggest hole that I saw in my market were t-shirts that empowered women of Christ to live their purpose. There are all these t-shirts about all these different things, but as far as uniquely empowering somebody to live for God-given purpose, I didn't see those t-shirts out there. That is the hole that my shirt business fills in the market. Do your product research, find out what other companies in your industry and in your niche are already doing t-shirts on, and then figure out what hole you can fill in that market.
Next we need to do Market Research. These are what your current customers want from you, because even if you find a hole to fill in your niche, now you need to know what your current customers want from your products so that you can fill that hole according to your customers' specifications. I just ask my email list 'Hey girls. I'm coming up with a brand new t-shirt line. What do you want for it to do?' And all the girls will tell me 'I want it to be sleeveless, I want it to be flowy, I want V-necks, I want scoop necks, I want wide, I want black', and they'll tell me what they want. Do your market research and ask your customers 'Hey guys. I found this hole in the market. This is what I'm going to fill with my t-shirt line. This is name of it. This is the purpose of it. What kind of shirts do you want?' And they will tell you and then you can design your t-shirt line based off of that.
Now that you've done your Product Research, now that you know the purpose of your shirt line, and now that you know what your customers want, you are ready to create what's called a Brand Board. This is kind of like a Vision Board but it's for your shirt. And what you're going to do here for your Brand Board is you're going to go ahead and put down all your ideas based off of your Product Research and Market Research, the branding for your company of what you want your t-shirt business to look like, what you want your first line of t-shirts to look like.
You can go to pinterest.com and pull images of really cool quotes and colors and things like that that inspire you, and that really fit the need of the data you gathered when you did your research. Put all your concepts in one place so it's kind of like your Mood Board, so when you start the design process or you hire a graphic designer to do the design process for you, you have a very solid idea of what you want to your t-shirt line to look like.
Next up is our Final T-Shirt Design. You're going to actually create your designs for your t-shirt business. There are a lot of different websites you can use to design your shirts. I use canva.com to design my shirts. You can use Photoshop. If you want to hire somebody you can use 99Designs, Upwork.com, or Fiverr.com just to name a few. I actually recommend only starting off your t-shirts with about 4 different shirts because I have found that when I offer my audience too many shirts and too many options, they don't buy. They get too overwhelmed, so I scaled way down so only offered 4 shirts at a time rather than I used to offer 12 at a time.
Once you have your t-shirt designs, now it's time to find your printer. There are a lot of On Demand t-shirt printers online that you can use, so just search 'on demand t-shirt printers online', take a look at what they do, get samples from everybody, see who has the best quality, the best shipping time, and make your selection. You're going to also want to compare prices as well. That's what I did, I tested about 4 or 5 On Demand printers before I chose my printer.
The final part of our T-Shirt Business Plan PDF is your Launch Plan for your t-shirt business. A lot people will create a t-shirt business that's amazing and they never tell anybody about it. Don't do that! Plan your launch. Plan out how you're going to launch your t-shirt business, what your launch strategy is, when you're going to post.
Now that you have an idea of what you need to do to launch your t-shirt business, I want to invite you to get my Launch Your T-Shirt Business Masterclass where I demonstrate launching a t-shirt business from scratch step-by-step. You can learn more about the masterclass by clicking here.

Welcome to Godlywood Girl sis! My name is Stephanie Rodnez, Founder & CEO of GodlywoodGirl.com, and my purpose in life is to help you find yours.
A few years ago I made a terrible business decision that almost brought me to bankruptcy. The fear, self-doubt and lack of confidence I went through as a result of that poor decision kept me from living my purpose for 2 long years -
Until one day I saw a video by ET Thomas that literally changed my life. His "You Owe You" reawakened my purpose, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to help other women reawaken their purpose too.
That's why I created Godlywood Girl, a motivational resource company designed to help women of Christ get unstuck, stop feeling frustrated and start living God's greatest purpose for their lives - just like Dr. Eric Thomas' video did for me.
My greatest desire is to empower at least 5 million women of Christ to find their God-given purpose, starting with YOU. Click below so I can send you a free copy of my Find Your Purpose Journal today ➡️➡️➡️ http://purposegift.com

]]>It's the 3rd week of January, and I feel absolutely terrified. Two of my clients in my social media marketing agency don't have funds to pay me for February, which they politely made me aware of the day they were supposed to make payment. My YouTube channel just got demonetized - I can't even begin to say how heartbreaking that was, especially since I'd been watching my estimated royalties triple as I invested more time into creating content this year. And then the kicker - Facebook / Instagram announced the biggest algorithm change that literally evaporated every competitive advantage I had in social media - including what I brought to my clients.
So there you have it.
As entrepreneurs, we rely on the information presented to us to make the best decisions.
I can't just go by what my gut says anymore, because now if I make the wrong decision, I don't have money to eat. Simple as that. When you're a full-time entrepreneur, every decision affects whether or not you're able to eat.
And that's where the terror sets in. How are we supposed to feel confident enough to make the right decisions? How are we supposed to know we won't make a mistake?
As a daughter of Christ, I know I am favored by the Most High God. I know I am destined for rich rewards. But how do I keep the terror from getting in the way of my destiny?
One of the things I miss most about my full-time job is that I never heard an excuse from my boss as to why I wouldn't get my paycheck that week. There was never "our clients didn't pay us, so we can't pay you." There was never "I didn't realize how little I had left in the budget this month." There was never "I can't make payment yet, but can you still do the work and then I'll just pay you back next month?"
No, when you work a 9 to 5 job, everything is given to you on a silver platter. It's funny, I never really felt that way when I had a full-time job. When I worked in corporate America for at least 36 hours per week, I remember feeling trapped. I was perfectly happy with my job. I did work that I really did love. I worked with people who I truly did respect.
But I felt trapped. There was no promotion, project or reward big enough to make me forget that my greatest desire in life was to be a full-time entrepreneur.
It was CONSTANTLY on my mind, thinking about when I could finally be living my God-given purpose as a business owner full time.
I remember even when I won 3 Telley awards, the most any producer in our department earned, I still felt a burning desire to hand in my walking papers and take the leap into my life as a full-time entrepreneur.
What stopped me?
Well, the unknown, for one. At that point, I earned money in my business, but I wasn't earning a profit. I was spending WAAAY too much in Marketing to earn just a few dollars of profit, and I knew without cushion, I'd be swimming in the red way too soon.
The second thing that stopped me was fear. I was afraid of making a mistake, afraid of making a wrong decision. After all, my job was SECURE. My job was RELIABLE. My job liked me and rewarded me all the time.
So why leave?
It's funny when I think back to that mindset, "why leave?" Because I think that is what foreshadowed the way God pushed me into making the leap into entrepreneurship. More on that in another blog. Want to read the full story now? Grab my book "The War Of Purpose" here.
But now that I'm here, now that I've been a full-time entrepreneur for 18 months, now that I have Godlywood Girl and my social media marketing agency up and running on autopilot - I still feel terrified.
The unknown is still there.
And I'm just now coming to terms with the fact it will always be there. As much as I can plan for a great quarter and a great new product release and a great new client acquisition, at the end of the day, I can't predict what will happen tomorrow.
All I can do is be grateful for the resources God gave me TODAY, and use them to my fullest ability.
So even though things went wrong, I'm still going to hand out flyers for new social media clients. I'm still going to host free webinars and live streams to raise awareness about my books and services. I'm still going to film YouTube videos and edit commercials that help women achieve their greatest purpose for Christ. Because even though I can't get rid of the fear, I can certainly step out on faith with the tools God has put right in front of me to work with.
Let's get to work.
